I just came across an interesting short note by Anh-Minh Do on LinkedIn. He just interviewed Google CEO Sundar Pichai yesterday (12/22/2015) during Pichai’s business trip to Vietnam.
Anh-Minh said:
The biggest takeaway I took from our conversation was learning to focus on the 3 main things every 3 months. He (Pichai) says this is a habit he is still trying to perfect.
I’m a college student, so my 3 “main things” (3 projects) for the next 3 months revolve around my personal life only.
- Finish the Basic Chinese course on Coursera. I completed the first chapter of the course last June, then I went on my 6-week vacation, Returning to the city in mid-August, I still lingered on the fun trip so I just “chilled” until September when school would begin.
- Complete the Python coursework my friend just sent me
- Finish up the old piano pieces in my binder. My piano skills are getting rusty with time. I have excused myself from practicing piano for two months now, since the midterm exams.
I will try to keep my promises to myself this time. To motivate my lazy self, I’ll update continuously on the progress.
